In Grafton you may stay in the car park at the South Grafton Ex Serviceman’s Club. They ask that you do not enter it until after 9.30pm as Saturday night is a busy one for them. They also ask that you park on the grassed area and not the bitumen.

On the Pacific Highway between Grafton and Ballina is well bereft of rest areas due to Pacific Highway construction.

Sunday 29th October entry into the Greyhound Track.

If you google www.jacaranda.net.au you will find our website. There is a town map showing you the greyhound and racecourse with directions to Cranworth Street where you will enter. There will be big purple flags on the street verge, and the entry has a half circle arch over it. It will be staffed by CVR volunteers.

Entry is from 8.00am until 4.00pm ONLY.

The people at the gate will ask for your name, then direct you to either the left or the right. There will be some lovely volunteers there who will ask you to wait while they call up the parking officers. They will give each vehicle a Welcome Bag which will have programs for the Rally and for Jacaranda plus lots of other goodies. They will also give you a windscreen attendance sheet to leave in your windscreen for us to see for the duration of your stay. This sheet will indicate the number of days you are with us, your site number, and the electrical box you need to use if you are on power.

The parking officers will take you to the site that has been allocated to you. They will oversee parking you. Please let them know if you have slide outs so they can park you accordingly. If you have slide outs they must be contained within your 6-metre site width.

Your electrical cord needs to have a readable-current electrical safety tag.  This is a requirement by the CMCA insurance who covers our rally if you are connect to power. If your cord does not have a current tag then please take it to the office and it will be tagged for a cost of $10, all of which will be donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Appeal. If you require a new plug etc, then you will only pay the cost price for this. Make certain your name and site number is attached to your cord.

You are not allowed to be permanently connected to any water taps. If you are running short, fill up and then disconnect please so others may use the taps.

Once you have settled onto your site, can you please make your way to the office in the undercover area. You need to present your current membership badge and sign the registration form. This is essential so that you are then noted as having arrived, and you are then covered by the insurance. At the office you will also be given your dinner ticket for the sausage sizzle, and your site number will be stuck onto your badge. If you buy raffle tickets, you just need to give your site number – it is much faster than writing the names.

We ask that you have your membership badge on displayed you when you are in the undercover area. During the week other vehicles may occupy sites for a day or two as they pass through the town. We can then discern if a person is able to have the free morning teas, or go to the entertainment etc.

If your black water cassette needs emptying, ring Ted on 0429645224 or Barry on 0402462629 and they will arrange transport for you and your cassette to the dump point. However, if you can empty it on arrival that would be appreciated. Just tell the person at the gate that you are going to do so, then go to the ‘Welcome People’ as directed.

Gas bottles can be left at the office, after Sunday, with your name on them and they will be taken for refilling. Cost is $25 for a 9kg bottle.

Tours, BBQ Breakfasts and those owing us money – If you need any of these, including those who have paid for their breakfasts, then go to the far SE end of the undercover area where several of our delightful people will help you out. There are still some seats available on some of the tours. There is no limit on the BBQ breakfast with the bush poet. If you have already paid for your breakfast, you need to collect your tickets down here. Some people owe us money and this can be paid here also.

If we owe you money-  we ask that you go to the office after Sunday to collect it. The office is quite small and with everyone needing to come and sign in, and collect their sausage sizzle tickets, we do not want to create extra hold ups during the day.

You need to sign on for attending the different pub for lunches, the Grafton District Services Club for the Friday night monster meat raffles, dinner and then onto the Venetian Carnival afterwards. You also need to sign on for the barefoot bowls on Monday Night, free hearing tests, finska, social disc bowls, disc bowls competition and the craft sessions. Except for one of the crafts, there are no costs for these things. However, it helps us to determine how many trips for the buses, and we notify the pub or club a few days beforehand to assist them with catering and the hiring of help for the meals.

Lower Clarence Foodies Tours – if you are on either of these tours, you must wear enclosed shoes at the Fisherman’s Coop. It is an industrial site and that is their OHS requirement.

Those coming via Casino on the Summerland Way, keep going past the racecourse, as if heading to Sydney.
