A total of 10 vehicles (19 members) arrived at Woodenbong on Friday and after siting we found a sunny spot behind the vans to catch up with the latest news from members. The mandatory card games were indulged in and a circle formed with two fireboxes placed in the middle to give room for all to enjoy. The fire lighting skills of Ray and Ken were displayed and applauded as we gathered to enjoy happy hour.
The days were sunny and warm but the nights were very cold. One of the highlights of the nighttime gatherings was the fashion parade by Yvonne in her full-length “mink” coat with colourful knitted beanie and warm fur-lined slippers. The next night she favoured us with a shorter version fur coat with another knitted beanie. Paris has nothing on us! Yvonne’s was not the only fashion statement. Many members displayed multi-coloured beanies and hats.
Saturday morning tea found us all in the camp kitchen area where Lorraine tested our brains with a “wood” trivia quiz. The winner was Neil, with runner-ups Ray and Pres Don. Lunch was at the Woodenbong Hotel. Most sat outside in the warm sun while a few enjoyed the warm fire and amenities inside. Back at the campsite, another firebox appeared and soon we had three blazes going trying to edge out the night cold.
Sunday dawned cold be clear with news of the passing of Billy Gray, a long-time CMCA member and friend of many in our Chapter. Also, the latest on Secty Don is he is going well and we hope he will be back on board soon. After morning tea members left for various destinations to meet again in Cangai next month.
Be well and travel safely.

Acting Secty
