Thursday Afternoon Dance Fest

Bill Kearns

This is a Westpac Helicopter Appeal afternoon, plus a lot of fun and dancing if you are up to it. The afternoon will start at 2:00 pm with bush poet Bill Kearns, who will give his hilarious account of grey nomads.

Then the Grafton Line Dancers will have their Foster Line Dancer friends in tow, will demonstrate some moves and then you can show your style. At 3:00 pm we will stop for afternoon tea and raffle sales. Bill Kearns will give them a short break if they need it with yarns about line dancers, rock and rollers and other topics that will have you laughing till you cry.

Grafton Line Dancers

The Grafton Rock and Rollers are due at 4:30 pm and will demonstrate their style before getting you up to have a go.

At 5:15 pm we will have raffle sales and our afternoon draw for Thursday. The big draw is on tonight.

Raffle tickets for the Westpac Helicopter Appeal will be available each morning, with the draw being held on Saturday afternoon during happy hour.

Grafton Line Dancers – A bunch of enthusiastic ‘older’ people who just love line dancing. They will show you the steps, then you can join in.
Thurs: 2:00 pm

Big River Rockers – These energetic people exhibit this form of dance for you with much gusto. After their performance, you get to join in and try to remember the moves you made as a teenager.
Thurs: 4:15 pm

Bill Kearns – Bill had us all in stitches last year as his poetry reflected the life of the grey nomads, RVs and getting old. He is looking forward to telling us about the rock and rollers and line dancers in poetry. Last year he had such an ovation that he had to tell us more of his poetry. He will fill in between the dancing groups so they can have a breather, if it is hot – and when isn’t it at Jacaranda time.
Thurs: 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
