A morning drive towards Lawrence with the first stop at an alpaca farm. Australia has the largest population of alpacas outside of South America. You will have a fantastic view of the Clarence River as you have the baby alpacas walk amongst you looking for a friendly pat. Pauline will give you an interesting talk on the alpacas and the products produced. There should be a lady demonstrating the spinning of the alpaca wool. You will be given be given the opportunity to purchase alpaca products. You will enjoy fresh scones, jam and cream plus other culinary delights with your coffee or tea.
On the return to Grafton we will stop at the old, one teacher school at Alumy Creek. Relive and reminisce on your old school days, especially if from a rural area. The school cane is there, plus the ink wells and pens, reading matter and all that made up our school days. You will be given a marvellous insight into the schooling in the district about 100 years ago. On the veranda area is a display of replicas of notable buildings found in Grafton. The collection was donated to the trust.
The trip includes morning tea and all entry fees.
